"The Base Violence Necessary," the third episode of Arcane , acts as the series' first act finale, focusing on the tragic fracturing of a family and the origin of its main conflict. Following a failed rescue mission, Powder's attempt to help causes an explosion that kills her friends and leads to Vander's death. This event results in a devastating fallout between Vi and Powder, driving the latter into the arms of Silco and transforming her into Jinx.
