After years of peace, the RDA returns to colonize Pandora with "recombinant" avatars—Na'vi bodies implanted with human memories, including those of the late Colonel Quaritch. To save their tribe and children, Jake and Neytiri relocate to the reefs of the Metkayina clan. There, they must learn "the way of water" to survive, ultimately leading to a massive oceanic battle when the RDA catches up to them.
