Leo looked down at his hands. They were turning into pixels, dissolving into the very light of the screen. He wasn't downloading the game anymore. The game was finally downloading him.

As the green bar filled, a strange glitch rippled across his screen. The desktop icons shifted, momentarily forming the shape of a blindfolded woman—2B, the game's protagonist. Leo rubbed his eyes. The storm cracked loudly outside, and for a split second, his room glowed with a pale, artificial blue light.

"Extraction complete," a synthesized voice whispered from the darkness of the corner. Leo looked down at his hands

On the screen, the .rar file began to delete itself, byte by byte. But it wasn't going back into the hard drive. The progress bar was moving backward, and as it did, Leo felt a strange weight in his own chest, a digital heaviness.

Leo didn't have the money for the latest titles. He lived in the digital shadows of forum threads and repack sites, chasing the high of a game that his hardware could barely run. This was the first of twelve parts. If one was corrupted, the whole dream collapsed. The game was finally downloading him

Curiosity overrode caution. He double-clicked the extraction log. Instead of a list of data files, a single text document appeared. It was titled MESSAGE_FROM_THE_BUNKER.txt .
